Your invite to our London Ruby Dojo and DoJunior

We feel really lucky to have a new studio space, so now we've painted the pipes and built some shelves we want to open the doors and invite people over. 

We'll be hosting a whole mix of events about the stuff and people we love this year - and where better to start than the heart of the action... yep, coding.

London Ruby Dojo and DoJunior will be two coding events under one roof, taking place at the same time because we think they'll benefit from each other. This is an official invite to developers, whether you're interested in the Ruby Dojo or helping kids to learn how to build web apps. Or a bit of both. So please get involved and spread the word. There are no tickets, just let us know you're interested or rock up. And we'll see how it goes. Thanks!

An invitation to our London Ruby Dojo and DoJunior...

Hello Rubyists!

LONDON RUBY DOJO: We’re hosting a Ruby coding dojo at our studio (by Old Street roundabout) every Thursday at 6pm, starting this week - the 26th Jan. We’ll pick a challenge, and then split into teams and try to come up with interesting solutions. Afterwards we’ll compare, contrast and review. And then go to the pub.

Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a Ruby novice or expert, and beer/snack are on us. It’ll be fun and you’ll keep your brain sharp.

DOJUNIOR: At the same time, we’ll be running DoJunior, where young people pair up with developers and build awesome web apps. The world needs more coders and schools aren’t teaching the real stuff. We’re working with local youth organisations to make sure this reaches kids aged 16-10 that wouldn’t otherwise have the funds/contacts/confidence to get this opportunity. So come and meet/teach the next generation of hackers.

London Ruby Dojo & DoJunior event details

• You can come just for the dojo OR just to work with young people OR for a bit of both.
• There are no tickets, just let us know you're interested or rock up to our studio
• Both events will take place on Thursdays. Meet from 6pm, Dojo kicks off at 6.30.*
• This Thursday 26th Jan - the first event - will be a Ruby Dojo and a chance for anyone interested in DoJunior to find out more and get involved. Youth developers will be joining for the DoJunior after this.
• The event is an experiment, we'll see how it goes and adapt as we learn. So please get involved and help shape it!
