In response to the crackdown on freedom of speech online, Sidekick and Soda created Irrepressible.info with the aim to defeat online censorship, no less.  Yes, we wanted you to sign a petition, but first we wanted you to help us distribute the censored websites that the authorities tried to ban.

We created a widget and an API which enabled people not just to support our work, but to do our work. 1 million visits later, we were a top 100 website in the world and Amnesty’s movement had a seat at the table at the next internet governance conference.
